2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Quentin Davie, OLB, Northwestern

Northwestern University outside linebacker Quentin Davie is a hard-hitting, intelligent prospect with a lot of experience. He finished his redshirt senior year with 56 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and three interceptions.

Davie excels with instincts and diagnosing plays. What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in being in the right place at the right times. He has NFL-ready size and strength for the position, but his lack of burst in pursuit makes him a bit of a liability at the next level.

In order to ensure his selection in the draft, he will need to test well at the NFL combine. He currently has a listed 4.69 in the 40 yard dash and any improvement there will only help him.

Given his size and experience, Davie is best suited to play a 4-3 OLB or even a 3-4 ILB.

He plays well in coverage, which is very important at the next level. He is effective at reading the quarterback and falling back into open space.

Davie is unlikely to be selected in the 2011 NFL Draft.
