2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Adam Grant, OT, Arizona

It took quite a bit of time for Adam Grant to make an impact at Arizona. Way back in 2005, Grant was a tight end who redshirted. But even though he came in as a tight end, the Wildcats envisioned him as an offensive tackle. Grant looked poised to make an impact at tackle in 2006, but a knee injury sidelined him for the entire season. The story was exactly the same in 2007, but in 2007 Grant at least saw action in one game prior to going down with his injury.

Due to the injuries, Grant would eventually get another year of eligibility. In 2008 he finally started the year healthy and earned the starting job at right tackle. However, Grant missed part of the season with a hand injury. In 2009 Grant finally stayed healthy for an entire year. As a result he made a huge impact on the Wildcats front line. Grant got even better in 2010 and earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors. Unlike the previous years, Grant played at left tackle during his senior campaign and proved to be a fine tackle on either side of the line.

Grant's injury history is a big concern. He also lacks great technique. He tends to stay too high at the point of attack and can easily get beat by stronger or quicker opponents when he is stuck in a bad position. However, Grant has plenty of positives. He has quick feet and plenty of strength and if he can stay healthy, Grant will be a nice pickup in the seventh round.
