2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

James Dockery, CB, Oregon State

James Dockery had a slow start to his collegiate career at Oregon State. The 6-1 cornerback was highly regarded coming out of high school and was expected to make a pretty big splash in the Beaver secondary sooner rather than later. However, he had to bide his time and wait behind some pretty talented players. After redshirting in 2006, Dockery saw limited action in 2007. The following season was supposed to be when Dockery stepped into a starting role, but an injury sidelined him for the entire year.

Dockery finally got his chance in 2009 and he made the most of it. Dockery was the lone player in the secondary that started all 13 games. Dockery started to show that he could be the strong corner that everybody expected him to be. The 2010 season went even better for Dockery. Again Dockery started every game and this time he tallied 56 tackles and four interceptions. Dockery had a knack for making big plays in 2010 as two of his four interceptions clinched victories for OSU late in the game.

Dockery is relatively quick and has decent instincts, but his measurables will not blow away any NFL teams. Oregon State's inconsistent and disappointing 2010 season has not helped Dockery's draft stock either and he is likely a late round selection at this point.
