2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Armand Robinson, WR, Miami (OH)

Armand Robinson has been quietly leading Miami's receiving corps over the last four seasons. The success has finally come in 2010 as the RedHawks wrapped up their season with a 7-1 conference record and have clinched at least a share of the Mid-American Conference East title. Even as a freshman Robinson ranked third on the team with 33 receptions. He also grabbed a team high three touchdowns. In 2008 Robinson saw his role diminish, but he still ranked second on the team with two touchdown receptions despite only catching 16 passes.

As an upperclassman, Robinson built off of his successful freshman campaign and put his little sophomore slump behind him. On a team that was breaking in a new quarterback and only 15 touchdown passes, Robinson was leading the way. He caught 67 passes for 788 yards and four scores. Through the regular season in 2010, Robinson has done a superb job, catching 76 passes for 805 yards and five touchdowns.

What makes Robinson an interesting NFL prospect is the fact that he has spent most of his collegiate career as a slot receiver. At 6-1 and 199 pounds, that is where he will spend his NFL days too. Usually a top receiver from a mid-level conference does not spend much time in the slot. However, that will not be enough for Robinson to be drafted much earlier than the sixth or seventh round.
