2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Darius Morris, OT, Temple

Darius Morris was around in 2006 when Temple finished a dismal 1-11. That was in Coach Al Golden's first year with the team. Three years later and Temple would go to their first bowl game in 30 years; in 2010 the Owls are eyeing a Mid-American Conference title. Morris did not play much as a true freshman in 2006, but the following year Morris helped pave the way for a much improved offense by starting four games at right tackle.

After missing the 2008 campaign, Morris came back bigger and better and started 11 games and received some national attention. Heading into the 2010 campaign he was a preseason All-MAC honoree by multiple media outlets. At 6-4 and 318 pounds, Morris would certainly fit into the right tackle role at the next level. He has some strength, but lacks the quickness to play left tackle. He could even be moved into the interior part of the line and would be a fine fit at guard.

Morris is a big bodied lineman who usually just gets in the way of the defense. He needs to work on his strength at the point of attack and his footwork, but he has the tools to turn into a decent lineman in the NFL. Morris will not likely be drafted in the first four or five rounds since there is work that needs to be done, but on a team that needs some versatile depth on their offensive line, Morris is not a bad way to go in late rounds.
