William Vlachos, C, Alabama

A three-year starter at center for Alabama, Vlachos was one of the more experienced players in college football. He played in seven games as a freshman in 2008 and started every contest thereafter. Vlachos was the anchor of the Crimson Tide's offensive line, which blocked for Heisman Trophy finalist Trent Richardson and helped lead Alabama to the BCS National Championship.

The Birmingham, AL native is undersized for sure at 6'0'' and 300 pounds. Of course, that is why he plays center; he does not have to be huge, but does have to be quick off the snap. And that's what Vlachos is. He has nimble feet and that especially helps him in pass blocking. He generally runs in the 5.2s of the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 5.12 from that distance. Vlachos is one of the hardest-working guys in the business, so it should come as no surprise that he is also one of the most fundamentally-sound players. He brings intangibles to the table even though he does not bring an ability to overpower defensive linemen. Based on his limited physical gifts, it is unlikely that Vlachos will ever be a Pro Bowl performer at the next level. Still, his work ethic and fundamentals will probably make teams think long and hard about him and use him as a backup center. Vlachos deserves to get drafted, so look for him to go off the board in the seventh round.
