2011 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Jason Kelce, C, Cincinnati

Jason Kelce started his collegiate career as a walk-on linebacker. Yet, by his redshirt freshman campaign in 2007, Kelce was competing for a starting gig on the offensive line. He did not win that battle, but he did see action in nine games at center and guard. By the following season, Kelce was the full-time starter at left guard. The Bearcats offense was potent that season, but the best times were yet to come.

Once again starting at guard, Kelce was a huge part of Cincinnati's dynamic offense. The team ranked sixth in the nation with 464.3 yards per game. Certainly the skill players deserve a lot of the credit, but the line, led by Second Team All-Big East honoree Kelce, did a superb job giving quarterbacks Tony Pike and Zach Collaros a ton of time to make plays. Kelce moved to center for his senior season, but the line struggled mightily early in the year. After allowing just 15 sacks in 2009, that number skyrocketed in 2010.

Kelce did lead the line to a much better end of the 2010 season and even paved the way for UC's first 1,000 yard rusher since 2004. Kelce will not be the most sought after interior lineman in this draft, but he is a solid all-around player who has experience at the guard and center spots.
