2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

Kuechly was nothing short of incredible ever since the beginning of his career at Boston College. The Cincinnati, Ohio native started 12 games at linebacker even as a freshman in 2009 and in 2010 he earned First-Team All-American honors. He did the same as a junior by leading the nation in tackles (by far). In 12 games, Kuechly had a ridiculous 102 solo tackles and 191 total tackles for an otherwise horrendous Golden Eagle squad. He made 117 more tackles than any other player on the team. Kuechly also recorded 12 tackles for loss and three interceptions, leading the team in both categories.

Kuechly has good size at 6'3'' and 237 pounds, although he could add some bulk heading into the next level. He generally runs in the 4.6s in the 40-yard dash and has been clocked as fast as 4.58 from that distance. Kuechly only helped himself by turning in a great performance at the combine last month, including his stellar 40 time. He is not an elite athlete, but Kuechly has an incredible nose for the ball and is one of the most fundamentally-sound tacklers in the business. His instincts are second to none and those make him a solid pass defender despite lacking the athleticism that Pro Bowl linebackers often have. Kuechly is a lock to be a first-round pick in the 2012 draft and going No. 15 overall to Philadelphia is a likely destination.

Prediction: 1st Round

Good tackler but....slow and too small to play MLB at 237 and if he goes up in weight his speed goes down . Good nose for the ball yes but if you don't have the speed...bye-bye!!! Someone will take him in the 1st. RD. I wouldn't.2nd. RD. at best.

Too small?Google Patrick willis' height/weight.his size is not far from prototypical.he maybe needs 5 lbs of muscle then he'd be 6'3''242.that's prototypical.
