2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern State

Amini Silatolu is a small school prospect with serious size and talent that could push his way into the early rounds of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He's thick through the middle and displays a nice bend given his size. He played left tackle at Midwestern State, but projects as a guard in the NFL. Sits nice and deep in his stance with a good knee-bend. He uses his big powerful hands to really lay into defenders and powers the hole open versus the run. Needs to maintain leverage through contact; if not, he'll give up ground along the line.

As a pass blocker, he has a high ceiling; at present, he is lacking. Silatolu isn't quick with his feet and struggles with lateral movement. Relies too much on getting his hands on a player, rather than being able to shield with his body and mirror his defender. His biggest strength is his run blocking, where he quickly jumps and latches onto his man. He can overpower them and dominant them. When asked to pull, he moves well and shows a better burst. Shows a real propensity to get after it, play tough, and attack defenders, especially downfield.

Silatolu has a great ceiling and could drive into the second round with a strong combine.
