2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Robert Griffin, QB, Baylor

Griffin is now locked in as the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and is headed to the Washington Redskins. When you consider how far he has come since his beginnings at Baylor University, it's a tremendous story.

A quarterback prospect that comes with a ton of upside due to athleticism and intelligence on and off the field. He is not yet a pocket passer in the traditional sense and will sometimes move out of the pocket in order to make plays. Could really excel in Redskins' scheme, which sometimes utilizes quarterbacks outside the pocket. These plays also only require reading certain spots on the field, which will simplify the reads Griffin must make.

The first thing to consider is that Baylor kept their offensive playcalling simple for Griffin's sake. There weren't a lot of checks or audibles pre-snap and he wasn't asked to identify coverages during plays. It was also a spread offense, so there will be concepts that Griffin will need to learn. On the plus side, many consider Griffin to be highly intelligent and should easily learn a new offense.

Accuracy on medium throws is a strength, but lacks the ideal touch for short passes. Will need to learn how to take some heat off his passes while maintaining accuracy. Also throws a nice deep ball with good touch. Griffin has above average arm strength and should have no problems making every throw.

Many will make comparisons to Michael Vick when it comes to Griffin's speed and athleticism. He's not quite as fast as Vick in his prime, but he is very quick. Will likely be the fastest QB in the league.

Ultimately, Griffin is a developmental player and yet he will play immediately. The Redskins must bring him along slowly, but eventually Griffin will have the whole playbook at his disposal and really, only at that time will we see how great he can be.

He has bust written all over him, wait until he has to make reads and go to his 2nd or 3rd option, he'll be running for his life.

Obviously, you have not watched rg3 this year. He is a pass first then run quarterback. I have not seen anyone throw the deep ball with such great accuracy other than Moon and Fouts oh Warner. You seem to be unprepared or bias in you assessment of rg3. Please do your research that's what you get paid for. I need you to be more prepared to give me correct information please! Thank God Iwatch college football because i would be lead a stray ( influenced) and misguided by a shallow opinion, as if the kid is a running scrambling quarterback . Robert Griffin III will be fine he has all the talent world and cream always rises to the top.

The love child of Warren Moon and Michael Vick? He has Vick type speed but looks to throw first. He throws it pretty too. Tight accurate spiral. Intelligent and just a great kid. I actually have him higher than Luck.(although Luck is safer)
