Kevin Koger Scouting Report
|Height & Weight:||6'4 - 258 lbs.|
2012 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
Kevin Koger, TE, Michigan
Koger excels most as an in-line blocker. He uses his hands well and is large enough to impose his will when double-teaming to seal the edge. He wasn't often used as a receiver. When catching the ball, he used his body well to shield defenders and box out. Koger's short area quickness is an issue and he definitely does not possess much top-end speed.
He was typically utilized in the short field as a late release or check-down receiver. He doesn't offer much in terms of yards after the catch since it takes him some time to build up speed. Koger is the type of player that could make a living as a second or third tight end on a run-heavy team. His athleticism, or lack thereof, limits any potential or upside a coaching staff may see in him. He will likely get a shot to make a team's roster as an undrafted free agent. Koger did contribute often on special teams and that's another way he'll have to earn his keep if in the NFL.
