2013 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Duke Williams, FS, Nevada

University of Nevada Wolf Pack safety Duke Williams will likely provide depth once entering the NFL and potentially be groomed into a solid starter in due time. Showed flashes of serious talent and must be more consistent.

Williams is a downhill player that can quickly close on the ball-carrier. At his best eight or more yards away from the line of scrimmage. Chases down hard every play. Can cover the slot man and lay the hits on backs in the flats. Sprinter background shows on the field. Runs cleanly. Shows a great willingness to be physical. Must continue to improve his ability to read the play-action. Beat by double moves too frequently. Has the speed to recover but did give up big plays. Smooth backpedal and wastes little motion in his lower half. Above-average hands and can make some acrobatic catches. Focus is fleeting though and will drop catchable balls. Athleticism helped him and will provide him a good starting point in the NFL.

Undersized, but can stick with bigger receivers. Will struggle on 50/50 balls. Vulnerable in the red zone. Not big enough to contribute as a fourth linebacker. Multiple off-field legal issues.
