Mississippi State defensive tackle Josh Boyd is a stout run defender who can provide immediate depth in a 3-4 defense or at DT in a 4-3. NFL-ready size and strength. Drives blockers back with very good upper body strength. Pass rush is still a work in progress. Likely limited to first and second down only. Keeps a low pad level. Small bursts of quickness. Average length. May not be a three-technique. Will need to work his way up a depth chart. Still has room on his frame to add more girth and lower body strength. Adequate jump off the line.
