2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:

Jace Amaro, TE , Texas Tech

Amaro was the Jimmy Graham of college football in 2013, statistically speaking. He was far and away the nation's leader at his position in just about every relevant category. Blessed with good size and some tenacity after the catch, Amaro will be a nightmare matchup for teams looking for a TE who can line up out wide.

Long way to go as an in-line blocker. Athletic enough to pick up blocking techniques with no issue. Will be used primarily in the slot. Very aggressive after the catch. Ball security when fighting for yards will need improvement in the NFL since defenders will look to strip it.

Above-average hands. Catches ball away from frame. Good bulk and length. Could afford to add more upper body strength. Set the NCAA all-time record for receiving yards in a season by a TE (1,352). Lacks ideal intensity as a blocker.

A specialized fit for teams looking for a hybrid TE/WR and already have an established blocking TE. Should be a popular option among the talking heads to go to the Patriots to take over where Aaron Hernandez left off.

Amaro is a projected early second round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: One of three top-tier TE prospects (Amaro, Eric Ebron and Austin Seferin-Jenkins) who has a chance to make a big splash in their rookie years. He has TE2 upside (even in his first year), assuming he can overtake a team's No. 1 spot on the depth chart right away. Not as athletic as Ebron, but Amaro does have very good receiving skills and can really challenge defenders in a phone booth when he needs to go up and scrap for the football.
