2014 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person

Bradley Roby, CB , Ohio State

Roby's excellent straight line speed and above-average talents as a cover corner create a unique prospect with first round upside. A blazing 4.39 40-yard dash at the combine sealed the likelihood of his chances to be drafted early.

One of the top corners in the nation with adequate height and terrific athleticism. Great anticipation of the route. Can sometimes jump route to make play on the football. Average hands. Still fooled too often by double moves, yet has enough speed to recover most of the time. Aggressive against screen passes. Good tackler compared to the average CB.

Played often on an island. Was asked to cover every team's No. 1 receiver. More physical than most and will rely on hand-checks to disrupt the route early. Not quite strong enough to muscle up against bigger receivers. Certainly not afraid of contact though. Must add a little more muscle. Sometimes a little lost with his back turned away from the play.

Roby projects as a late first to early second round selection in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Prediction: 2nd Round

As an Buckeyes fan, I can give a unique perspective concerning Roby. I don't know if he was injured & no one knew, but Roby had a horrible 2013 season. He was burned early & often, & made superstars out of some average receivers. Here are some stats: Jared Abbrederis, Wisconsin, 10 receptions, 207 yds., 1 TD; Chris Harper, Cal, 6 recs., 115 yds., 1 TD; Jeremy Gallon, 9-175-1; and Sammy Watkins, Clemson, 16-227-2. These are just a few receivers that Bradley Roby was tasked to cover. I wouldn't draft this guy until at least the forth round. He's been burned so often, he's not even toast, he's crumbs.
