Schredder's Mock Draft (Round 1)

<< Previous Mock Draft View all User NFL Mock Drafts Next Mock Draft >>

1 - HOU: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
Unless O'Brien can trade for McGloin from Oakland, and draft a developmental QB in the later rounds, Bridgewater is the best QB available and he's the pick.
2 - STL: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
Rams need to keep Brandford healthy and if this pick isn't traded, they need to upgrade that OL.
3 - JAX: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
Coach Bradley wont' be able to pass up on a once in a decade sack artist.
4 - CLE: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
The rumors of the Browns interest in Manziel is real. He's the pick here.
5 - OAK: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
Oakland takes the best available talent on the board.
6 - ATL: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Atlanta needs to protect Matty Ice.
7 - TB: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
Lovie Smith needs a versatile defensive playmaker to play alongside should've been Pro Bowler Lavonte David.
8 - MIN: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
Best case scenario for Minnesota. They need a QB of the future and can use Ponder for one more year while Bortles develops.
9 - BUF: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
Manuel needs a consistent safety valve to grow with. Ebron is a top 10 talent.
10 - DET: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
Dennard is a tough physical corner who will fit perfectly.
11 - TEN: Kony Ealy, DL , Missouri
Tennessee needs a versatile athlete along their DL and Ealy fits the bill.
13 - STL: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
The Rams need a tall red zone target who can serve as a WR1 to open up the slot for last year's No. 1 Tavon Austin.
14 - CHI: Tim Jernigan, DT, Florida State
Chicago needs help along the DL and Jernigan is a versatile proven winner.
15 - PIT: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Pittsburgh has needed OL help for 5 years and Lewan has all of the tools to be a force from Day 1.
16 - BAL: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
The Ravens clearly missed Anquan last year and Lee would be up there with Watkins had he been healthy last year.
17 - DAL: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
Dallas needs a defensive game changer and Barr's slide ends here.
18 - NYJ: Jace Amaro, TE , Texas Tech
The Jets need someone to catch the ball and Amaro can make plays and block.
19 - MIA: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
The Dolphins need versatility and toughness on the OL and get a gamer in Martin.
20 - ARI: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Arizona has other needs, but they need to start planning for life after Palmer.
21 - GB: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
The Packers' biggest need is help in the secondary and it comes in the form of Clinton-Dix.
22 - PHI: Allen Robinson, WR , Penn State
The Eagles will probably lose Maclin and potentially Cooper in FA and Robinson has proven to be a consistent WR1 with minimal QB talent.
23 - KC: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
KC is another team needing a go to red zone target and Benjamin proved in the BCS title game that he can be that guy.
24 - CIN: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
The Bengals get lucky that a top CB prospect falls to them at 24.
25 - SD: Cyrus Kouandjio, OL , Alabama
An OT from Alabama turned out well with their first round pick last year so why stray from previous success.
26 - CLE: David Yankey, G , Stanford
If Cleveland goes Manziel with the #4 pick, they need to keep him upright.
27 - NO: Dee Ford, DE , Auburn
Ford looked good in the Senior Bowl and he fits the energy needed for Ryan's scheme.
28 - CAR: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
Cam Newton needs more targets and Matthews is a proven pass catcher.
29 - SF: Ra'Shede Hageman, DL , Minnesota
Here comes Justin Smith's replacement ready to be groomed.
30 - NE: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
Donald is a gamer and Belichick will pounce if he's available here.
31 - DEN: Jason Verrett, CB , TCU
Denver needs secondary help and Verrett is the best on the board.
32 - SEA: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE , Washington
Russell Wilson could use another target as well as some more help from the offensive line and this Washington TE can do both.
