1 - HOU: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
The Texans have a large number of options here, but appear to be looking hard at Bortles. Given their offensive line and weapons, he should have a decent chance at early success if he earns the playbook
2 - STL: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
(from WAS) The Rams should be looking for the best player available here, and Watkins would be just that. They also need a tackle, but there should be one available at 13 or in the 2nd round
3 - JAX: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
Would you rather have a 90& chance at $100 or a 50% chance at $500. I think the Jaguars have been burned enough by high QB draft picks and play it safe with Clowney
4 - CLE: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
The Browns are apparently more interested in Bortles, but with him gone, they'll happily "settle" for Manziel. If they can grab some playmakers for him, they'll be in excellent shape next year.
5 - OAK: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
The Raiders face a similar dilema as the Jaguars, where they'll be looking at Bridgewater and Mack. Bridgewater doesn't seem to have a very high ceiling, but his floor is also very low, which should make him an immediate starter.
6 - ATL: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
Having Robinson fall all the way to #6 should have the Falcons jumping for joy. He'd immediately replace Baker at LT, and allow them to slide him over to RT, giving Matt Ryan his first solid OT combo
7 - TB: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Matthews is the best player on the board, and the Bucs could actually use an upgrade at OT. Penn is solid, but would be better served at RT
8 - MIN: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
The Vikings did this with Christian Ponder, but he was not nearly the same physical prospect as Carr. If the Vikings can get him acclimated to their offense quickly, his arm and Patterson's speed should ramp up this offense
9 - BUF: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
The Bills might be tempted by Ebron's abilities, but he'd be a reach here, and Mack is going to be hard to pass on.
10 - DET: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
After drafting the speedy-athletic Darius Slay in the 2nd round last year, the Lions should be looking for a physical CB here.
11 - TEN: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
The Titans need to find some serious pass rushing help, and should strongly consder Barr here. They should look at what the Broncos did with Von Miller, and mimic that with him
12 - NYG: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
The Giants should continue their trend of taking the BPA in the 1st round here, and land a cheaper alternative to signing Hakeem Nicks. Evans, paired with Randle and Cruz would give new OC McAdoo an incredible 3-WR set
13 - STL: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
The Rams should be elated if they can land Watkins and Lewan with their 1st round picks, giving them a legitimate #1 WR and a starting RT that can fill in for Long at LT if he isn't ready by the beginning of the season
14 - CHI: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
The Bears will likely try to trade down for more picks and maybe land Jernigan later in the round, but if they can't, Donald would bve a welcome addition here.
15 - PIT: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
With a huge need at NT, and Nix on the board, the Steelers shouldn't have to think too hard about this one
16 - BAL: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
The Ravens need another WR to compliment Torrey Smith, and Lee would compliment him nicely, adding another deep threat to Flacco's big arm
17 - DAL: Kony Ealy, DL , Missouri
With Ware being a likely cap-casualty, adding Ealy seems like an obvious move here
18 - NYJ: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
Since they missed out on the top 3 WRs, and there will be plenty left in the 2nd round, they should go for Ebron here. He'd pair nicely with the in-line Cumberland, and give Smith a real safety blanket
19 - MIA: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
The Dolphins are in serious need of an o-line overhaul, and adding the best o-lineman available for the first few rounds would probably be a good call.
20 - ARI: Dee Ford, DE , Auburn
Arizona should be looking for an OT and a pass rusher with their early picks. Ford is the highest rated of those potential players, and gives them a nice pass rusher
21 - GB: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
The Packers have been looking for a safety to step up and replace Woodson, but no one has been able to. Adding Clinton-Dix gives them the back-end support they've been looking for
22 - PHI: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
The Eagles have a serious need for a safety, but Gilbert would be almost impossible for them to pass on here
23 - KC: Odell Beckham, WR , LSU
The Chiefs should be another team looking for a WR, and given Beckham's skills and production, he'll be a good fit for them
24 - CIN: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Mosley's slide should be good news in Cincinnati, where they are looking for a MLB that can replace Rey Maualuga
25 - SD: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
The Chargers should be looking to bump down and get Moses at the end of the round, but if they don't want to take that chance, they can get him here and upgrade their LT spot
26 - CLE: Brandin Cooks, WR , Oregon State
(from IND) With a new QB, a stud #1 WR and a big-bodied TE, the Browns snag a speed-demon WR that can stretch opposing defenses to open up crossing and seam routes
27 - NO: Stephon Tuitt, DL , Notre Dame
If Tuitt is cleared medically, the Saints will be glad to bring him in as a replacement for Will Smith at DE
28 - CAR: Allen Robinson, WR , Penn State
The Panthers have their pick of Robinson or Benjamin here. I think they'll play it safe and get the sure-handed Robinson
29 - NE: Jace Amaro, TE , Texas Tech
The Patriots have to be feeling a little nervous about their TE position right now. With Hernandez in prison, Gronk's injury problems, and their lack of additional depth, Amaro would give them another young TE to build up around
30 - SF: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Eric Reid was exceptional in replacing Dashon Gholson, and now with Whitner likely on his way out, adding Pryor would give them two young stud safeties that can do it all
31 - DEN: Tim Jernigan, DT, Florida State
The Broncos drafted Sylvester Williams in the 1st round last year, and Knighton played great, but they need some legitimate depth, and Jernigan would thrive as their pass rushing DT
32 - SEA: Cyrus Kouandjio, OL , Alabama
Giacomini has been good for Seattle, but he has injury concerns, and could be much better. Cutting him and drafting Kouandjio would save them money, and give them an upgrade
