Hugely fun to put together, imagining the trades and trying to put myself in the shoes of various GMs.

1 - HOU: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
Houston thinks they can get their QB at the top of round 2, so they take Clowney the consensus best player in the draft.
2 - ATL: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
Atlanta think they're closer than a 4-12 team, and the Rams don't need Mack given the production Robert Quinn gives them.
3 - DET: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
With Mack gone there's no one Jax loves and this let's the Lions make a play to put together the best receiving corps in the league.
4 - STL: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
Cleveland don't need a tackle and Robinson is likely in play for Oakland. The Rams trade back up to get their #1 tackle.
5 - OAK: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Strong consideration is given to Mike Evans and QB, but they think they can be competitive if they can keep Schaub upright.
6 - CLE: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Cleveland can't risk their favourite QB being taken by Minnesota or Arizona before they pick again at 26 so they pull the trigger on Carr here.
7 - TB: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
Lovie Smith was a decent QB shy of winning in Chicago so he tries to make amends here.
8 - MIN: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
The Vikes vertical passing game is suited to Johnny Football and it's the best news for Vikes fans since Favre signed.
9 - BUF: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
The Bills need a playmaker. Eric Ebron is considered but they opt for the WR.
10 - JAX: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
Gus Bradley follows the Seattle model and gets a pair of exciting safeties pairing Clinton-Dix with Cyprien.
11 - TEN: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Moseley stays in SEC country and fills a big need at LB. Bridgewater considered. If a bigger armed QB was here e.g. Manziel they'd pull the trigger.
12 - NYG: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
The Giants love freakish athletes to rush the passer and Barr fits that bill.
13 - STL: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
Safety is a big consideration but they dont love Pryor as much as Clinton-Dix.
14 - CHI: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
Great fit for Chicago's 4-3 front.
15 - SF: Odell Beckham, WR , LSU
The 49ers use their draft capital to move up and get another receiving threat.
16 - DAL: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Dallas need lots of help across the defense but there's more depth at DL and LB in the later rounds
17 - BAL: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
Maybe to play RT or Guard
18 - DEN: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Jets consider Ebron and Lewan but free agency shows that Denver is in win now mode so why wouldn't they trade up to get a top corner?
19 - MIA: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OL , UCLA
This pick paired with Brandon Albert turns the Dolphins O-Line from a joke to a point of strength
20 - ARI: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
QB is a consideration but Arians likes big armed QBs, and the offensive lineman from Michigan will make their eventual signal caller happy
21 - GB: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
GB need a TE. If this happens on draft day they are running to the podium.
22 - PHI: Kony Ealy, DL , Missouri
Chip Kelly loves his pass rush and Ealy is the best DE not named Jadeveon.
23 - JAX: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
Jacksonville trades back into the first round, with KC a willing trade partner as they need to re-acquire a 2nd pick given up to acquire Alex Smith.
24 - CIN: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
Big physical corner helps Bengals secondary
25 - SD: Jason Verrett, CB , TCU
Great in zone coverage.
26 - CLE: Bradley Roby, CB , Ohio State
Local college star with bags of talent at a position of need. WR also considered but the run on corners makes this more of a need
27 - NO: Demarcus Lawrence, DE , Boise State
Rob Ryan loves pass rush too. Kyle Van Noy also in play
28 - NYJ: Brandin Cooks, WR , Oregon State
Jets trade back ahead of Pats to get their prefered WR.
29 - NE: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
Patriots weigh up DL here but the chance to take a top receiver is too tempting to pass upon
30 - PIT: Tim Jernigan, DT, Florida State
Jerningan's a great fit for Pittsburgh's 3-4 and someone they'd have considered if they stayed at 15
31 - CAR: Joel Bitonio, OL , Nevada
Panthers need OL help and WR help too. Bitonio is a guard who might be able to play tackle.
32 - SEA: Ryan Shazier, LB , Ohio State
Freakish athlete with huge ceiling that could thrive in a limited role in the Seahawks defense.
