2/1 Booshay74's Mock Draft
1 - HOU: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
Houston pulls a surprise pick and drafts Mack over Clowney. Mack fits the Texans defense a lot better and in my opinion, isn't really a step down in upside. Mack posted better numbers in the vertical jump, broad jump, 3 cone drill and 20 yard shuttle run. The only real advantage Clowney has is his size. Mack is just as athletic but displays a better motor and fit in this defense with his ability to drop back in coverage.
2 - ATL: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
This is where the bidding war starts. Buffalo and Atlanta both want this pick and the chance to grab Clowney but Atlanta ultimately wins out as St Louis still gets a chance to grab one of the blue chip players in this draft.
3 - JAX: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
Jacksonville isn't expecting Justin Blackmon back this season which, is greatly going to effect the Jacksonville offense. With Mack and Clowney off the board, Sammy Watkins gives the Jags a legitimate receiving threat.
4 - CLE: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
Best player available here. Greg Robinson can move to RT and push Schwartz inside to guard solidifying the offensive line. Any QB who plays for Cleveland will love playing behind this O-line.
5 - OAK: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
Oakland is in desperate need of a WR and Mike Evans is the biggest and most sure handed in the draft.
6 - STL: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
Jake Matthews is the safest pick in this draft and will solidify the O-line with the injury prone Jake Long.
7 - TB: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
Lovie wants Aaron Donald and I think he ends up acquiring the very athletic 3-technique DT who fits perfectly in Lovie's Tampa 2.
8 - NYJ: Odell Beckham, WR , LSU
The Jets desperately want Beckham and want to move into the top 10. The Vikings GM wants to trade down. This trade makes a lot of sense for both teams.
9 - BUF: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
Buffalo needs to go out and get Manuel somebody to throw to and who better than a super athletic TE like Ebron. Ebron said that the Bills and Lions have shown the most interest in him.
10 - DET: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
It seems like Detroit always need help in the secondary. Justin Gilbert would give Detroit the most athletic and the cornerback with the biggest upside in the draft to contend with the likes Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Jordy Nelson and the emergence of Cordarrelle Patterson.
11 - TEN: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Tennessee is moving to a 3-4 and is desperate need of premier LB and an idnetity on defense. Mosley brings this to the Titans and fits this defense perfectly.
12 - NYG: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Eli Manning was putrid last season. Finding ways to give him more time in the pocket will drastically improve his performance. Lewan is a great value pick at 12 here.
13 - STL: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
The first QB comes off the board to the Rams at #13. Jeff Fisher has a lot of experience with mobile QB's and with Bradford coming off a serious knee injury, Manziel provides competition and a possible replacement if Bradford doesn't perform.
14 - CHI: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
I think this is the guy for Chicago. Big hitter and forces a lot of TO's through INT's and fumbles. Has the range to play FS. Exactly what the Bears are looking for.
15 - PIT: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Great all round corner who will immediately step in and play a role as a nickel CB and possible replacement for Ike Taylor.
16 - DAL: Kony Ealy, DL , Missouri
Ealy said Dallas has shown the most interest and you could really make an argument for any defensive player in thsi draft because they will all probably be better than what they had last season.
17 - BAL: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
The Ravens offensive line was horrible last season and with the departure of Michael Oher, Zack Martin could be a player who immediately helps this team.
18 - MIN: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
Minny gets their guy even after the trade down. Minny needs a QB. Simple as that.
19 - SF: Brandin Cooks, WR , Oregon State
SF is going to make a move at some point with the amount of picks they have. Miami makes a lot of sense here with the top OT's off the board. SF needs speed on offense and Brandin cooks has plenty of that.
20 - ARI: Dee Ford, DE , Auburn
Arizona needs an eventual replacement for John Abraham. Dee Ford could be an exceptional 3-4 OLB in Arizona's system.
21 - GB: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
Green Bay fills a need with possibly the best cover safety in the draft.
22 - PHI: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
Philly gets a gift as Dennard falls to them at #22. Philly's defense needs some talent and some toughness and Dennard brings both of those characteristics.
23 - KC: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
KC needs to get Alex Smith some help. Lee is a polished WR who runs great routes and can challenge CB's going deep.
24 - CIN: Jason Verrett, CB , TCU
Verrett may be the cornerback with the best intangibles in the draft. Exceptional athlete who plays aggressive and tough. Verret does lack #1 CB size however, which could limit him against the bigger and more physical WR's. Verrett will make his mark as a terrific nickel CB and #2 CB.
25 - SD: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
SD has strong connections with ND. SD also runs a very similar one gap 3-4 defense to the one ND runs. Louis Nix would feel right at home with Te'o and that scheme.
26 - CLE: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
Bridewater's size, arm and mobility fit well in Kyle Shanahan's system.
27 - NO: Demarcus Lawrence, DE , Boise State
Demarcus Lawrance is a guy who is rising up boards. Rob Ryan loves to terrorize the QB and Lawrence would give him another toy to harass them with.
28 - CAR: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
Carolina needs offense. Especially WR and LT. Benjamin is the best available at both positions.
29 - NE: Ra'Shede Hageman, DL , Minnesota
Classic Bill Belicheck pick. Somehow, Bill will find a way to get the most out of thsi kid and it could be scary for opponents.
30 - MIA: Cyrus Kouandjio, OL , Alabama
Miami needs help on the O-line and can't afford to pass up on draft Kouandjio who will immediately start at RT for the Dolphins.
31 - DEN: Ryan Shazier, LB , Ohio State
Denver's LB's suck. Shazier will at least bring athleticism to the group if nothign else.
32 - SEA: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OL , UCLA
The only weakness in Seattle was the O-line. This guy makes the most sense at #32.
