With 4 QBs going in the first round the Texans get unlucky, who will they take at #33?

1 - HOU: Jadeveon Clowney, DE , South Carolina
I’m still not too confident in this pick. I really don’t know how Clowney fits in Romeo Crennel’s 3-4 defense. But with that being said, he’s the best player in the draft and Houston might not be in love with a QB enough to pass on him. I think Houston may believe they can get their signal caller at number 33. Alternatives- Mack, Manziel, Bortles, trade down
2 - STL: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
BOOM! Shocker pick. The Rams are tired of waiting around on Sam Bradford, they need a difference maker now to catch up with the rest of their division. Not confident in this pick, but they are "rumored" to like Manziel a lot. Alternatives- Matthews, Watkins, Robinson, Mack
3 - JAX: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
The Jags have needed to upgrade their offense for years and Sammy Watkins helps immensely. It can't be easy for Gus Bradley to pass on Khalil Mack here, a player who perfectly fits the Leo role in his defense, but with the Blackmon suspension looking like it could be a long one, Watkins fills a huge need as well. Alternatives- Mack, Bortles
4 - CLE: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
Cleveland wanted the last 3 players taken. Now it comes down to the best tackles or Mike Evans or a QB. They go Evans and pair Josh Gordan with a stud. Whoever the Browns QB ends up being, he is a lucky guy. Alternatives- Watkins, Robinson, Manziel, Carr, Bortles
5 - OAK: Khalil Mack, LB , Buffalo
Tough call for Oakland, either take Mack, Robinson, Matthews, or the QB of your choice. I think most teams will wait on QBs this year. Alternatives- Evans, Watkins, Matthews, Robinson, QB
6 - ATL: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
ATL gets the best OT in the draft. Robinson could be an All-Pro talent. Alternatives- Matthews, trade up
7 - STL: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
First TRADE! Rams usually known for trading down but they use those picks they have accumulated over the years to move up here and draft Jake Matthews to protect college teammate Johnny Football. Matthews is great in pass protection and obviously has ties to Jeff Fisher.
8 - MIN: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
Tough spot for Minnesota. I think they would like to trade down here, because there isnt a corner or LB worth taking here. So they get their (hopefully) QB of the future. This kinda feels a lot like the Ponder pick in 2011 though... Alternatives- Barr, Mosley, Gilbert, Dennard, Carr
9 - BUF: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
The Bills are another team in a tough spot. They didn't get either of the top 2 WR or OT. So they settle for the 3rd rated Tackle by most. Lewan is no slouch. This is a solid pick for BUF. Alternatives- Ebron, Matthews, Robinson, WR, CB
10 - DET: Odell Beckham, WR , LSU
This has been the trendy pick lately but I'm torn. They get a geat WR to give them arguably the best group in the NFL. But they again pass up on upgrading their secondary, and pass rush. Alternatives- Barr, Gilbert, Dennard, Clinton-Dix
11 - CHI: Aaron Donald, DL , Pittsburgh
TRADE! I think TENN is desperate to trade down, with no huge needs and no 3rd round pick, this situation is ideal. Chicago snags Donald before NYG could.
12 - NYG: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame
Giants take best OT available to bolster their pass protection. Alternatives- Ebron, WR, S
13 - TB: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
I think McCown was signed to be a one year starter to groom a young player due to his age, I don't think that young player is Mike Glennon. The Bucs got to trade back and still landed a signal caller.
14 - TEN: Darqueze Dennard, CB , Michigan State
Not confident in this pick at all. TN has no glaring need, but Dennard seems like the player Ray Horton would like. Alternatives- Gilbert, OT, S, Ebron, Barr, Mosley, DLine
15 - PIT: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama
Tough pick here. Pittsburg gets best Safety available after the loss of Ryan Clark. (plus Troy ain't gettin any younger) Alternatives- Ebron, Gilbert, Dennard, Pryor, Beckham
16 - DAL: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Dallas gets much needed help at Safety. Pryor is a beast back there. Alternatives- Donald, Clinton-Dix, WR, Jernigan
17 - BAL: Brandin Cooks, WR , Oregon State
Baltimore missed out on Martin and both Safeties. Theyll likely look to trade down here but if thats not an option, Cooks fills a need.
18 - NYJ: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina
The Jets are rumored to be considering trading up for Ebron. In this scenario, they don't have to. Ebron falls to them. Great value pick here and a good target for Vick/Geno.
19 - MIA: Ja'Wuan James, OL , Tennessee
This pick will surprise many, but the Dolphinsns are rumored to have a 1st round grade on James. It's no surprise they need an OT badly. This is probably a reach, but any tackle here would be. Alternatives- Gilbert, Moses, WR
20 - ARI: Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA
Arizona is in a great spot here. They can take their choice of any of the top remaining QBs, they can take Barr, the best OLB and pass rusher, they could take Mosley to replace Dansby, or they could take Gilbert to pair with Pat Peterson. All sound good to me, I just decided to go with Barr in this scenario.
21 - GB: C.J. Mosley, OLB, Alabama
Green Bay would have loved for one of the Safeties to drop. However, C.J. Mosley dropped and he is a stud in the middle of a defense! Great value pick here. Alternatives- S, WR, OLB
22 - PHI: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
Gilbert is just too good to pass up. They target WR in the second round, as their are plenty of good ones available.
23 - KC: Marqise Lee, WR , USC
KC needs a WR next to Bowe. Defenses won’t be able to stack the box against Jamaal Charles with these two WR on the outside. Lee was a star at USC and should translate well on then next level.
24 - CIN: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
Cincinnati needs a DE, but Fuller is too good to pass up at this point.
25 - SD: Jason Verrett, CB , TCU
San Diego doesn’t have a whole lot of needs but they could use a CB and this class is loaded with great ones. Verrett is the best available. Alternatives- WR, OLB
26 - CLE: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
This isn't the way Browns fans or staff probably envisioned the draft going, but I have to say, it could have gone a lot worse. Getting Bridgewater at 26 is good value and you have Mike Evans and Josh Gordan and Jordan Cameron to throw to. Ben Tate in the back field isn't too shabby either.
27 - NO: Dee Ford, DE , Auburn
The Saints addressed the Safety position via Free Agency with Jarius Byrd but they need some pass rushers and that is Dee Ford’s forte. I think the WR's available such as Latimer, Matthews, and Benjamin are tempting here, but NO decides to go defense. Alternatives- WR, CB, LB
28 - CAR: Joel Bitonio, OL , Nevada
From what I've heard the Panthers' board looks different than most. They obviously have to go WR or OT here. Even with other choices avilable, Carolina takes the guy who's #1 on their board, targets WR in 2nd.
29 - NE: Tim Jernigan, DT, Florida State
Patriots draft defense or OL almost every year. I could see this being a WR, maybe Jordan Matthews from Vanderbilt, but Jernigan is a good player who could bolster their D-Linen and could be considered best available by some.
30 - SF: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
San Fran doesn’t have a whole lot of needs obviously. They are rumored to want to trade up, but it doesn't happen in this case. They take best WR available in Matthews, who wrecked the SEC for 4 years while breaking records.
31 - DEN: Ryan Shazier, LB , Ohio State
Ryan Shazier is a playmaking linebacker that would fit well in Denver, they’ve already added a bunch of pieces and this is just another. Alternatives- CB, Ealy
32 - SEA: Stephon Tuitt, DL , Notre Dame
I debated mocking a trade here for a QB needy team but decided not to. Seattle gets a playmaker on the Dline in Tuitt. They will most likely take best player available at a position of decent need.

Average -- After wasting picks on Tavon Austin last year, Ram fans will choke if they follow your selections here. Not likely.
