4/30 FadeToZach's "What if" Mock Draft
4/25 FadeToZach's Mock Draft (Round 2)
1 - HOU: Jack Mewhort, OL , Ohio State
Right Tackle was a problem area last year
2 - WAS: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin
The retirement of London Fletcher leaves a hole in the middle of the D
3 - OAK: Keith McGill, DB , Utah
DJ Hayden hasn't proven himself yet and Carlos Rogers is penciled in as the other starter
4 - ATL: C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa
Tony Gonzalez has not been replaced yet
5 - TB: Jarvis Landry, WR , LSU
After trading Mike Williams, they have to find a new WR
6 - JAX: Billy Turner, OG, North Dakota St.
With Luke Joeckel moving to LT, Turner could play RT, or OG if that didn't work out
7 - MIA: Jaylen Watkins, DB , Florida
*TRADE* This carries over from a trade I mocked in the first round. Beyond Brent Grimes, the Phins could use more CB talent
8 - MIN: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
After surrendering their 2nd round pick to trade up in the first round, they are kind of lucky to find Mettenberger here in the third. He fits perfectly what Norv Turner likes his QBs to be and they have Cassell there now so Mettenberger can be worked in slowly
9 - BUF: Deone Bucannon, S , Washington State
Bucannon shouldn't really have dropped this far, but that is the way the mock fell. The Bills would run to the podium in this case
10 - NYG: Donte Moncrief, WR , Mississippi
Hakeem Nicks left and they would do well to add more talent at WR
11 - STL: A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama
The Rams are almost assured a QB who could be capable of taking over for Bradford in 2015 if he doesn't improve
12 - DET: Loucheiz Purifoy, DB , Florida
They say they are content with their CBs, that's why they didn't target one early. At this point in the draft though, they should be willing to add some talent
13 - SF: Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State
Goodwin is gone and they might want to add competition
14 - DAL: Marcus Martin, G , USC
Martin has versatility but will play OG in Dallas
15 - BAL: Tre Mason, RB , Auburn
With Ray Rice's legal troubles, they might be smart to add another RB
16 - NYJ: Trai Turner, OG, LSU
They need more beef up front for their power running game
17 - MIA: Will Sutton, DT , Arizona State
They lost a DT in free agency and Randy Starks can't play forever
18 - CHI: Charles Sims, RB , West Virginia
He plays like Forte so he'd be a great back up
19 - CLE: Devin Desjarlais, WR , New Mexico
Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood
20 - ARI: Adrian Hubbard, LB , Alabama
A new pass rushing OLB
21 - GB: Brandon Thomas, OL , Oregon
He's slipped due to an ACL tear during workouts. Some team will be smart to pick him and let him work back slowly. The Packers love to address their lines
22 - PHI: DaQuan Jones, DT , Penn State
A big NT for their 3-4
23 - KC: Dion Bailey, S , USC
A new safety to pair with Berry
24 - CIN: Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech
The Berngals would be wise to hedge their bet as to whether Dalton is a long term starter. Thomas has all kinds of potential but might need a little seasoning, so this could be perfect situation for him.
25 - SD: Bruce Ellington, WR , South Carolina
Reinforcements beyond Kenan Allen
26 - IND: Ed Reynolds, S , Stanford
I know I'm probably taking the easy way out by mocking these Stanford kids to the Colts, but I can't help it, they fit positions of need
27 - NO: Serderius Bryant, LB , Mississippi
Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
28 - CAR: Victor Hampton, CB , South Carolina
Their secondary was decimated in the off season
29 - NE: Craig Loston, SS, LSU
Strong Safety should get a look in this draft
30 - SF: Brent Urban, DT , Virginia
Justin Smith can't play forever
31 - DEN: Paul Richardson, WR , Colorado
Wes Welker is only signed through this season
32 - MIN: Brock Vereen, DB , Minnesota
To play strong safety
