Stevan Ridley, RB, N/A
2016 Outlook:Last updated on Aug-25-2016 by Shawn Childs
Update (8/25): Ridley was released by the Lions.
Ridley has been on a negative progression in 2013 and 2014 after his breakthrough year in 2012 when he rushed for 1263 yards on 290 carries with 14 rushing TDs. His decline in playing time was a result of New England losing confidence in him due to fumbles (eight in 2012 and 2013). In 2014, Stevan didn't fumble in his 94 carries before going down with a knee injury in mid-October when he tore his ACL and MCL in his right knee, which led to surgery in November. Last year the Jets gave him 36 rushes for 90 yards (2.5 yards per rush) as he a result of him not looking healthy. He'll enter 2016 at age 27 so he may emerge as an early down option if Abdullah isn't ready to make a step forward. At the very least, Detroit may use him in short yardage and possibly at the goal line.
