2015 Outlook: Gamble (high risk)

Last updated on Jun-12-2015 by Shawn Childs

Thomas could be one of the trickiest players to gauge in 2015. He has scored 12 times in each of the past two seasons, but his success was created by a dynamic, Peyton Manning-led offense with deep passing options. In Jacksonville, Thomas should slot in as the second option in the passing game behind Robinson. Julius has missed five games over the past couple of seasons due to ankle and knee pains. Over the first five games of last year, he accumulated 24 catches, 277 yards and nine TDs on 30 targets. His value faded over his final eight games (19 catches, 212 yards and three TDs on 32 targets). The Jags completed 47 passes to their TEs for 547 yards and two scores last season; That should be the floor for Thomas. He will improve this offense, and Bortles will improve with him. I expect a 60-catch campaign with 700-plus yards and a minimum of five touchdowns. That makes him a low-end TE1 in PPRs.

Jun-29-15 Jaguars TE Clay Harbor missed most of OTAs with a calf injury

Clay Harbor has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career and it has caused him to not meet his full potential. He has been dealing with injuries yet again this offseason. Harbor missed the majority of OTAs with a calf injury. If he can stay healthy, Harbor projects as the primary backup to Julius Thomas as a pass-catching tight end.

Fantasy Analysis:

Harbor may be injury prone but he doesn't hold a candle to Thomas. Thomas misses as many games as he plays. Harbor is not worth drafting at the moment but he may be a nice waiver wire pickup when Thomas inevitably get hurts. Harbor has clearly surpassed Marcedes Lewis on the depth chart and is next in line for targets after Thomas. He was playing pretty well last season before being benched in November. If he can build off that, he could have some success this season. Still, for now he's nothing more than a potential waiver wire pickup.
