Rhythm within the offense has always been a problem for Miller over the last three seasons with the Dolphins. This issue has led to multiple games with short touches and disaster results. In 2015, Lamar had nine games with fewer than 55 yards rushing. In those games, Miller had ten carries or less seven times. His best game came in Week 7 when he had 236 combined yards with three TDs and three catches in just over a half against Houston. In his career, Lamar averages 4.6 yards per rush with rising value in the passing game (47/397/2 in 2015). The Texans' backs had 434 rushes for 1653 yards and six TDS last year while catching 85 of 114 targets for 657 yards and five TDs. I'm sure he will split touches will Alfred Blue so his opportunity and upside will be below the top backs in the league. I'll set his bar at 225 rushes with a chance at 1000 rushing yards plus 50 catches for another 400 yards or so. When you add in mid-tier TDs (8), Miller projects to be a back-end RB1 in PPR leagues. In 2015, the RB position had less impactful players which led to Lamar finishing as the 5th highest scoring RB.

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #1
June 12th, 2016
2.02 Jerry Colvin - Miller never really shined in Miami to his full potential and it certainly helps to have a RB in a PPR league who catches a pass or two (47 receptions in 2015). Could be a huge year for Miller in the Houston offense.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #2
June 27th, 2016
2.09 Two QBs - Salvatore Stefanile - Lamar was a top-five PPR back last year, despite rushing the ball only 194 times. He now goes to a team that has been predominately run heavy (in seasons he played 13 or more games, Arian Foster averaged 304 carries and 68 catches) and should yet again finish the season as a top-five RB.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #3
August 10th, 2016
2.08 Cowboys HQ - Matthew Postins - With 50 or more receptions each of the past two years, I'm banking that Miller's rushing reps will increase and, thus, his rushing yards.
