2015 Outlook: Deep-league Only

Last updated on Jun-07-2015 by Shawn Childs

Sanu showed nice growth in 2014 while playing his best ball with Green on the sidelines. In Weeks 2, 6, 7 and 8, Mohamed had 21 catches for 424 yards and three TDs on 36 targets. His success had fantasy owners believing he would retain value once A.J. returned to the starting lineup. But over his last eight games, Sanu was worthless to the Bengals and fantasy owners as he caught just 17 passes for 162 yards and one score on 32 targets. His catch rate was only 57.1 percent. Overall, Sanu flashed upside but lacked consistency. The Bengals just didn't throw the ball enough for him to be involved every week, and defensive coordinators found a way to take out of the game plan. It's tough to believe he'll have more upside in 2015 with Marvin Jones expected to be a significant contributor.

Latest Update

Jul-28-15 The Bengals were 'hoping to see more from' WR Denarius Moore this spring

Now that James Wright is facing season-ending surgery and has been waived by the Bengals, they may have to depend on Denarius Moore this season more than expected. The Bengals official website says that the team was "hoping to see more" out of Moore at OTAs and minicamp. There is one silver lining in this situation for Moore, Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson was his coach with the Raiders during his rookie season in 2011. He got a lot more out of him than he's given as out late.

Fantasy Analysis:

Moore will more than likely be best known for his unrealized potential. He used to be an interesting late-round fantasy option but now he's nothing more than an afterthought. After catching just 12 passes last season and struggling to get on the field, he's going undrafted. With that said, the Bengals do not have the most durable group of wideouts and Moore may find himself on the field much more than anticipated this season. He's not worth drafting, nonetheless, he's a deep sleeper to emerge off the waiver wire. In each of the past two seasons, the Bengals have seen Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu unexpectedly become worthy of spot starts.
