2015 Outlook: Super Sleeper (high risk/potential)Last updated on Jul-30-2015 by Shawn Childs
Quick looked to be on his way to a breakthrough season when he caught 21 passes for 223 yards and three TDs over his first four games of 2014. However, he was limited to just three catches and 43 yards over the next two weeks combined and was then brought down by a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 7. He underwent surgery in November to repair his torn rotator cuff. Recent reports have stated that he may not be at full strength when training camp opens, but he should be ready for the start of the season. His success last year points to more growth and upside this year. Prior to the injury, Quick was on a pace for 64 catches, 973 yards and eight TDs on 99 targets. Based on most recent play and trending career path, Brian makes sense as Rams' No. 1 wideout. Barring any setbacks in his recovery, Quick has a chance to grab 60 passes for 800-plus yards and lead this team in receiving touchdowns.
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick
After undergoing a very serious shoulder surgery last season, Rams wideout Brian Quick start training camp on the active roster. However, he is expected to be eased into action. The 25 year old has been working tirelessly to avoid the active/PUP list, his general manager Les Snead spoke very highly of his work ethic. "If you were to talk to the trainers and the medical staff and probably even Dr. Andrews, they love Brian Quick," Snead said. "They said from where he was, which we see a lot of injuries in football and that was a tough one, they call them car-wreck injuries because it's not your normal injury … There's less case studies on how to get the guy from Point A to Point Z, but man he was in here every day, a lot of days a week. If you go down there right now and ask the trainers about Brian Quick they'll all go all right, that's a man. You pull for him because he's come a long way … He's going to be ready to roll, it's just now because you don't have really a lot of precedent you're just going to gradually ease him back into football. He's exceeded expectations and I give that group credit and they'll give Brian Quick credit."Fantasy Analysis:
Assuming he's at full strength, which he's expected to be, Quick is expected to be the Rams' Week 1 starter. He got off to a hot start last season before cooling down and then getting injured in his seventh game. He is a steal being drafted as the WR57. When a player gets injured, people forget about them. That's why you can steal players like Quick and Marvin Jones so late in drafts. It's difficult to find a WR6 with more upside than Quick.
