2016 Outlook: Bye Week Fill-in

Last updated on Jul-27-2016 by Shawn Childs

After catching only 41 passes for 717 yards and five TDs on 96 targets over his first three seasons in the NFL, Benjamin was a nice hidden gem for Fantasy owners on the waiver wire in 2015. He caught 68 of his 125 targets (54.4 percent catch rate) for 966 yards and five TDs. Travis had three games with over 100 yards receiving and five games with six catches or more. The Browns gave him double-digit targets in seven games. His value did come to a screeching halt over the last five games of the season (14 catches for 140 yards on 30 targets). Philip Rivers throws a nice deep ball with touch, which will work well with Benjamin's skill set. This year he will be the new and improved Malcom Floyd while offering more value in his route running. His targets will be limited to about seven or less in most games so Travis will have a tough time matching his 2015 success. This year he'll be the 4th option in the passing game behind Allen, Woodhead, and Gates, which puts to about 55 catches for 800 or so yards and a handful of TDs.

8.04 Gridiron Experts - Jody Smith - All Benjamin did last year was finish as a top-30 wideout with a garbage Cleveland offense. Now he moves to a much better situation in San Diego, with a much more competent quarterback. Benjamin is one of my favorite mid-round values in 2016.

7.06 Scout Fantasy - Mark Morales-Smith - I love Benjamin this season. I believe he'll be a WR2 in 2016. I may have reached a bit, but he's grossly undervalued.
