2015 Outlook:

Last updated on Dec-13-2015 by Shawn Childs

Week 14 DFS Update (12/13): Hillman missed practice on Wednesday due to a foot issue. The move looks precautionary as he is expected start this week. With C.J. Anderson battling a ankle issue, he will be in position to get a bump in playing time. Other than two short weeks of touches in Weeks 9 and 10 (7 and 13), Hillman has averaged 20 touches per game in his other five games over the last seven weeks. In Week 5 he had eight touches for 26 yards against the Raiders while being on the field for only 21 plays, compared to 33 by Anderson. Oakland has shown risk defending RBs in five of their 12 games (30+ Fantasy points). They allow 4.4 YPC with RBs scoring 10 TDs. Very winnable matchup with more upside if he gains the full show.

Week 13 DFS Update (12/5): The tide at the RB position in Denver could be fading away from Hillman. Last week Anderson out-snapped Hillman 44 to 27. He finished with 15 touches for 59 yards and a TD. Over the last eight games, Hillman has three 100-yard rushing games while averaging 15 touches. He has six TDs, with five coming at home. The Chargers allow the most Fantasy points in the league to RBs, with five teams scoring over 30 Fantasy points. Coin flip play with a favorable matchup.

Update (11/25): Hillman has been the superior back in Denver. However, he has certainly had struggles of his own. While he has had his good days, he's also had six games with less than 50 yards and a seven-carry for one yard game. He's rushed for 528 yards and five touchdowns. The Broncos' backfield has been a bit of a nightmare but Hillman has been the lesser of two evils this season.

Denver gave Hillman plenty of chances to prove his worth in 2014, but he only averaged 4.1 yards per rush and was clearly outplayed by Anderson. Hillman finished with career-highs across the board, rushing for 573 yards on 127 touches and four touchdowns. In his three seasons in the league, Ronnie has average only 4.0 yards per rush on 245 carries with minimal upside in the passing game. Hillman has talent, but he needs a couple of injuries to gain any value in 2015.
