Jonathan Grimes, RB, Texans
2014 Outlook: Fantasy HandcuffLast updated on Aug-13-2014 by Mark Morales-Smith
Jonathan Grimes is our pick to win the backup duties to Arian Foster. Why? Because the high stakes players say so! He's currently being drafted in FFWC drafts before Rookie Alfred Blue and veteran Ronnie Brown.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted this morning that Texans running back Arian Foster is seen as a "longshot" to play today due to a hamstring injury. If he isn't active against the Giants, Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes would take over Houston's backfield. Ronnie Brown might also pitch in.
Foster topped 100 rushing yards in each of first two games and is second in the league in ground yardage.
Foster must have felt left out after basically every other offensive skill player got hurt in Week 2. It's not evident when or how Foster injured his hamstring since he made it through last week's blowout win over the Raiders. Whatever the case, he's not looking good for today. Blue will probably see the majority of the touches -- he got 11 carries last week while Grimes got only three. The Giants are pretty good against the run, and considering how much we don't know about Foster's backups, neither of them are more than longshot as a flex. A committee attack is likely coming.
We'll see if Foster can return for Week 4. He did go through three limited practices this week.
