Mike Gillislee, RB, Dolphins
There is no 2015 profile for this player yet. Here is his 2014 profile:
Mike Gillislee, a talented back from the University of Florida, arrived in the 2013 draft class and only made it on the field for nine snaps in 2013. He received good reviews in his rookie camp, yet is completely unproven. He has decent size and vision, but lacks the explosiveness for the home run play. Gillislee is a virtual unknown who will be battling Daniel Thomas for a roster spot. The Dolphins have a crowded backfield, but that crowd lacks a clear leader. If Gillislee gets a shot, keep an eye on him in (particularly dynasty leagues).Last updated on Aug-20-2015 by Mark Morales-Smith
Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi impressed Thursday, however, he has also been diagnosed with a cracked rib. Ajayi said he was not "overly concerned" with the injury but it is another setback. He had already missed time in camp with an injured hamstring. The Miami Herald suggests the team could stash him on injured reserve, if the injury is that serious. Head coach Joe Philbin was happy with Ajayi's performance prior to the injury. "I thought he ran hard," Philbin said. "He made a guy or two miss, showed toughness inside, and caught the balls that were thrown to him, which is always a good place to start."Fantasy Analysis:
It would be a bit shocking to see the Dolphins put Ajayi on I.R. with a cracked rib so they can't retain Mike Gillislee. Ajayi has too much talent to just stash him. Especially when you consider his career could be shortened by a cartilage issue in his knee. Ajayi brings a red zone and pass-catching presence the team could definitely use. A cracked rib should not cost him his season.
