2016 Outlook: Stud (low risk)

Update (10/15): Kelce has a TD in his last two games. He's caught five passes in each game in 2016, but his targets (29) tend to be in a tight range (7, 7, 7, and 8). Last season Travis had only three catches for 52 yards on five targets in two games vs. Oakland, which seems strange with the Raiders having weakness against TEs in 2015 (81/911/12). In both games against Oakland last year, the Chiefs only attempted 47 passes leading to 321 yards. Kelce can't have high success if Kansas City runs the ball well. This year two teams produced high scores from the TE position against the Raiders (10/180/1 and 7/80/2). As much as I like Kelce, he rarely delivers an impact game in the daily space. It's all about volume and the Chiefs have given him over nine targets in one game in his career. Sneaky as Travis has a winnable matchup if game score forced KC to pass.

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #1
June 12th, 2016
6.10 Matt Brandon - Once I passed on selecting a third wide receiver in the fourth and fifth rounds, I decided to employ the rarely used two-tight end strategy.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #2
June 27th, 2016
6.12 Scout Fantasy - Mark Morales-Smith - As I mentioned, I was really hoping Duke Johnson would fall here. The plan was to take a RB. However, I was looking at the list of RBs and didn’t like what I saw. Time was ticking down quick and in a bit of a panic I just grabbed Kelce because I felt he had the most value of any non-QB on the board.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #3
August 10th, 2016
6.11 Draft Sharks - Jared Smola - Two WRs were available here - Emmanuel Sanders and Marvin Jones - that I have projected within 2 points of each other. I gambled that at least one would make it back to me and grabbed a high-end TE.
