2016 Outlook: Stud (low risk)

Seattle had the best run defense in the league in 2015. They allowed 1304 yards with 10 TDs. Rushers gained 3.6 yards per carry with only four runs of 20 yards and more.

They finished second in passing yards allowed (3364) with a league low 14 passing TDs allowed. Their defense had 14 Ints and 37 sacks.

DE Michael Bennett was their best pass rusher (10 sacks) and run defender. DE Cliff Avril had nine sacks while also offering an edge as the run. DT Jordan Hill was league average against the run with no sacks in 2015 over ten games. DT Ahtyba Rubin finished with below league average value in both run support and the pass rush.

LB Bobby Wagner was an asset against the run with risk in coverage and a career low in sacks (0.5). LB Mike Morgan played in 14 games, but he was only on the field for 97 plays with no real upside. LB K.J. Wright finished as one of the best players at his position in 2015 with 116 tackles leading to upside as run defender while also played well in coverage.

CB Richard Sherman continues to be one of the best cover corners in the league while adding value in the run game. CB Brandon Browner hopes to rebound after a disastrous year in coverage in 2015 with the Saints. Browner was one of the worst cornerbacks in the league last season. S Earl Thomas is one of the best players at his position as well with strength in all areas. S Kam Chancellor struggled a bit in coverage while grading as a plus against the run.

The Seahawks have three plus players in their secondary, two edge linebackers, and they have strength at both defensive end positions. As great as they look in the real game of football, they've underachieved as a Fantasy option in back-to-back years due to low turnovers and sacks. Seattle tends to hold teams to low points, which is a bonus in many Fantasy games. They should be drafted as a top-five Fantasy defense and Lockett adds playmaking ability to the return game.
