2016 Outlook: Over the Hill (decreased production)

Last updated on Dec-02-2016 by Shawn Childs

Update 12/02/16

Sproles was able to play last week after suffering a rib injury in Week 11. He finished with eight touches for 54 yards with five catches while being on the field for 31 of 59 plays run by the Eagles. Darren averages 9.5 touches per game with only one game of value in 2016 (24.80), which came as a result of turning a short pass into a long TD. RBs have 65 catches for 497 yards and three TDs on 93 targets against the Bengals. Only mid teen upside unless he regains some action on early downs.

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #1
June 12th, 2016
11.04 Doug Moore - Sproles has averaged just under 50 receptions over his two seasons for the Eagles and could have the opportunity to improve on that. And in a PPR league, that can be valuable.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #2
June 27th, 2016
11.06 Mastersball - Perry Van Hook - Sproles is not only a good PPR running back but does give me some Ryan Matthews insurance. A few return touchdowns when he is in my lineup will be a bonus.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #3
August 10th, 2016
13.05 Cowboys HQ - Matthew Postins - Always dependable, Sproles is capable of giving you great spot production and helping you on defense and special teams, too. At this point, the value was too great to ignore.
