2014 Outlook: Do Not Draft

The 29-year-old signed a one-year contract to play in Chicago, but has yet to develop much fantasy relevance during his six seasons (just 11 TDs). In 2013 with Washington, he had 20 catches for 217 yards and no touchdowns. Marquess Wilson is the late-round WR flier to take in Chicago. Morgan is a possession receiver who can occasionally make the tough catch; however he is simply not a difference maker, especially in fantasy.

Jul-02-15 Saints WR Josh Morgan shined in camp

Josh Morgan has put together some solid seasons in his career. However, things were beginning to look bleak as he was set to be on the wrong side of 30 this season and caught only 30 passes for less than 300 yards over the past two seasons. Then he signed with the Saints this offseason and things appear to be turning around. There will be plenty of opportunities for targets in New Orleans. Marques Colston is well past his prime, Jimmy Graham was traded to the Seahawks and Kenny Stills was shipped off to Miami. Morgan knows he has "a big opportunity" and led the teams WR corps in catches this spring. Head coach Sean Payton has taken notice and says Morgan fits what they're looking for. "Josh is someone that on film has shown that he does that and that he does it pretty well," said Payton. "He's smart, he's tough, he will block, he does a lot of things well. I think as we were beginning to put together the numbers at that position he fit a lot of the things that we were looking for."

Fantasy Analysis:

Morgan is a talented receiver that has flashed in the past. I expect him to make the team and could carve himself out a nice little niche in New Orleans. The majority of their other pass-catchers are either older or unproven. There is no reason he can't fit in the mix. Morgan is not worth drafting but could emerge as an option on the waiver wire. He would have to have a fantastic preseason to become draft worthy.
