Connor Barth, PK, Broncos
2014 Outlook: Quality BackupLast updated on Jun-30-2014 by Rusty Reeves
Barth is a solid kicker with a big leg. He has completely healed from the Achilles' injury that forced him to the sidelines for the entire 2013 season and is reportedly kicking 60-yard field goals again. The Bucs' offense should be better this year with improved QB play and the return of Doug Martin. They also play in a good weather city. These factors can only help Barth and the team's ability to score points. Barth's total point projections for 2014 have him in the middle of the pack. However, he could be a sneaky pick at the position because of his fantasy playoff matchups. In Weeks 14 to 16, Tampa will play at Detroit (potential shootout, indoors), at Carolina (stingy defense that could create multiple FG opportunities, possible good weather), and home against Green Bay (potential shootout, possible good weather). He's not a top fantasy kicker, but isn't someone to shy away from on a bye week or if an injury comes up.
