The TE position on the Bears really lacks a player that offers long term upside. Miller caught 45 passes for 470 yards and four TDs on 60 targets over his first three seasons in the NFL. He disappeared off the NFL radar for three seasons with no production. The demise of Martellus Bennett in the Bear's offense in 2015 led to Zach delivering a couple of playable games over a seven-game stretch (5/107/2 and 5/85/5). His success led to me taking a double take as I thought he was the 'good' Zach Miller (the one that played with the Raiders early in his career). Over his last eight games in 2015, Miller caught 31 passes for 404 yards and five TDs on 43 targets. His season ended after Week 16 due a toe injury. The Bears saw enough of him to sign him to a two-year contract in the offseason. He'll enter 2016 at age 31 with a questionable resume, but his success over the second half of 2015 projected over a full season would give him TE2 value plus success in some games. I'd have a tough time drafting him as I'm looking for a player with more talent and upside. In 2015, the Bears completed 92 passes for 917 yards and eight TDs on 131 targets to the TE position, so there is an opportunity here.

Month Position Franchise/Comments
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #1
June 12th, 2016
12.05 Brad Kruse - Miller is another player walking into a nice role. He had as many yards as Bennett last year but on just over half the number of targets.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #2

14.01 Fantasy Guru - Tom Brolley - Since I selected Gronk early, I feel like I can take a swing for the fences with my #2 TE. Miller is 30 years old, but he’s young in terms of football wear and tear, and he was easily a TE1 when Martellus Bennett didn’t play last season.
2016 FFToolbox Mock Draft #3
August 10th, 2016
14.02 Fantasy Insiders - Davis Mattek - Miller was a legit TE1 when he was starting last season for the Bears and that offense did not evolve over the offseason.
