2014 Outlook: Do Not DraftLast updated on Jul-08-2014 by Rob Warner
The 28-year-old Texas alum proved to be more than just a solid Scrabble word. He gained some PPR relevance in 2013 (had at least five catches over five games). Ogbannaya was limited to 49 carries for 239 yards, yet set a career high with 47 receptions for 334 yards and two scores. Ogbannaya has no fantasy value without a string of injuries occurring ahead of him on the depth chart.
Vontaze Burfict tried his best to sideline basically the entire Panthers passing game last week, but it looks like those who came away injured on Carolina's side during the Week 6 tie will tentatively be able to play this Sunday versus the Packers.
Rookie wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin is the most questionable among the offensive players hurt, figuratively and literally. He sustained a concussion after taking a hit from Burfict in the first half Sunday. He was cleared to return to a full-padded practice Friday but still needs to get the green light from an independent neurologist before he can play. For what it's worth, head coach Ron Rivera said Benjamin "looked sharp" during the practice
Tight end Greg Olsen is listed as probable after Burfict twisted his ankle at the end of a touchdown catch. He practiced fully on Thursday and Friday.
And in the backfield, Jonathan Stewart is slated to start for Carolina. He hasn't played since Week 3 because of a knee sprain.
With DeAngelo Williams (ankle), Fozzy Whittaker (thigh) and Darrin Reaves (calf) either already ruled out or looking very iffy to play this Sunday against the Packers, Stewart might return to see 15 touches. He might be worth a flex start in deep leagues against the team that is allowing the most yards per game on the ground.
Olsen is a safe TE1, and Benjamin ... well, we'll have to wait until tomorrow or Sunday morning. He has about 40 or so hours to get cleared by that neurologist. The feel is that he will be cleared, but concussions setbacks can occur at any time without warning. If Benjamin is active, he needs to be in your lineup as he will likely be involved in a shootout. Quarterback Cam Newton looked as healthy as he's been all season in Week 6, and the team responded with 37 points. Expect more of the same up at Lambeau Field
